TMA wins 2 Platino Awards & Micromundo celebrates 10 years in the industry!

With two Platino Awards for our fourth film starring Sergio Chamy, we closed a cycle that took us to the top of the world film industry and is a wonderful recognition for Micromundo Producciones that during the month of October we celebrate our 10 years of existence and trajectory .

At the Platino Awards Gala, held last Sunday October 4 in Madrid, The Mle Agent won the two awards for which it was nominated: Best Documentary Film and the Film in Education and Values award.

Maite Alberdi, the director of the film, closed the night by posting on Instagram 5 photos of the ceremony and with a farewell message for the entire process that the film has meant: “A cycle is over for our @moleagentfilm that began more of 5 years together with unconditional professionals who have accompanied me on this path!”. She also took the opportunity to thank each of the technical and artistic team that made this possible, and that I have taken her on an incredible journey through the most outstanding festivals and awards in the film industry during the last year.

She also added: “Documentaries are movies, just like all of them, only we work with reality as raw material. “The Mole Agent” seems like a fictional film thanks to a team capable of exploring new cinematographic forms,” which is directly related to her speeches on the stage at the Municipal Palace of Madrid, where she defended the documentary genre as its own and remarked that the different awards should begin to be considered on a par with fictional realizations.

Maite on her Instagram complemented the post with a phrase she mentioned when she received the Cinema in Education and Values award: “I hope that documentaries are a source of inspiration for politicians and activists, and that we can defend a dignified, respected and not relegated old age. to oblivion, both family and institutional. “To see Maite’s full speeches, you can find it in the following Instagram post:

Later, in interviews behind the scenes with chilean radio ADN, she complemented that the documentary should be more considered in national distribution, especially by television stations. Alberdi called on them to play an active role in the national grill, daring to program and see more documentary films for audiences, taking as an example the case known last week for the controversy between La Red and Carozzi with La Batalla de Chile de Patricio Guzmán: “a film that had not been broadcast before (in 40 years) and that many times the channels keep the films in a drawer and do not show them,” emphasizing that there must be a role for the television stations and the distribution to show the content and invite the audience to watch more documentaries.

Last Sunday we also announced that Micromundo Producciones – the production company that Maite founded and directs – has been in business for 10 years. For this reason, the month of October will be full of surprises and memories of our first films that include The Lifeguard, Tea Time and The Grown-Ups. For more information, you can follow the social networks of @micromundoprod and @moleagentfilm.

On Monday we launched our website www.micromundo.cl and the Vimeo on Demand of Micromundo that can be accessed through the same route, where you can see Maite Alberdi’s films with a 50% discount during this first week.
